Traveling as a child in remote locations in South and Central America, Mitchell Naquin was exposed to wildlife in the jungles and rainforests.
At home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, his father raised exotic birds. It was only natural that he grew up to keep and breed exotic animals, including various poison frog species. His mother is a designer and painter who encouraged him to think creatively in life.
His love for design led him to attend Parsons School of Design in New York and Paris to study photography, Louisiana State University to study sculpture, and California College of the Arts to study and graduate in industrial design.
After launching a contemporary furniture and design studio in Baton Rouge, Mitchell continued his love of exotic animals and photography. After many years of working with and photographing the animals, he has come out with a small collection of some of his favorite poison frogs.
